Lynchburg Volleyball falls in five sets to Shenandoah
Lynchburg, VA - The Lynchburg College volleyball team dropped a hard-fought five-set match to Shenandoah University in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) match-up Friday night.
Shenandoah took the first set 25-23, but Lynchburg was able to come back and win the second set 25-21 and the third set 25-23. Points in the fourth set went back and forth, until Shenandoah took the lead to send the match into five games with a 25-20 win. The fifth set was close throughout, but Shenandoah captured the game with a 15-9 win.
Jen Garrett led LC with 19 kills and 10 digs. Amelia Dalton contributed 10 kills and Kelly Layne had eight. Lynn Walsh had a game-high 29 assists to go along with 15 digs. Sam Page and Gabby Myers each had eight assists, while Maral Tsolmon had 10.
Blake Parkes led Shenandoah (6-4/1-0 ODAC) with 12 kills, while Rachel Roberts had nine and Allie Pieper had eight. Rachel Cerrentani had 24 assists and Jasmine Callahan had 21. Brandi Griffith contributed 16 digs and Anna Gallup had 10.
LC (4-7/1-1 ODAC) will be back at home tomorrow afternoon for a 1 p.m. matchup against Washington and Lee University.
