Washington and Lee defeats Lynchburg 3-0

LYNCHBURG, VA – The Lynchburg College volleyball team lost to Washington and Lee University 3-0 in a Saturday afternoon Old Dominion Athletic Conference match-up.

The first two sets ended with the Generals winning 25-17. The third set was close throughout, but Washington and Lee was able to pull out the win 25-21.

Amelia Dalton and Jennifer Garrett each had 12 kills for the Hornets, Garrett also had a team high 13 digs and Dalton had 11. Lynn Walsh contributed 22 assists and six digs, while Gabby Myers tallied nine assists.

Anna Lausberg led the Generals (8-4/ 3-0 ODAC) with 18 kills and 10 digs. Mackenzie Shand posted 13 kills, while Elena West had a game high 33 assists. Katie Volk and Meg Guignon had 15 and 11 digs respectively.

The Hornets (4-8/ 1-2 ODAC) will be back in action on Wednesday traveling to Randolph-Macon for a 7 p.m. match.
