Hornet VB Defeats Fighting Squirrels in three sets 

STAUNTON, VA – The Lynchburg College volleyball team defeated Mary Baldwin College 25-11, 25-12, and 25-11 Wednesday evening in non-conference play to open the 2015 campaign for LC.

It was a balanced effort from the Hornets in their season opener. Junior Jen Garrett led the Hornets with nine kills, Mesa Willis had six kills and five digs, and Amanda Wrightson contributed five kills. Kelly Layne had four kills, Lynn Walsh had 17 assists to go along with a team-high seven digs and Gabby Myers provided five assists. Sam Page had five digs for the Hornets.

Katelyn Rice led the Fighting Squirrels (0-2) with seven kills. Jessica Hickman contributed six kills and four digs. Reilly Kelly had 14 assists and Jemicka Wilborne had 12 digs.
