LC Women's Soccer pours it on in Second Half in 6-0 win at Randolph
LYNCHBURG, VA – The fourth-ranked Lynchburg College women's soccer team extended a 1-0 halftime lead into a 6-0 victory Tuesday as the Hornets defeated Randolph College in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) road action.
Hornet junior Camille Bartley scored the game's only goal of the first half, finding the back of the net nine minutes into play.
The Lynchburg offense got untracked after intermission, with five goals in the first 25 minutes. Hannah Olds made the score 2-0 on an assist from Jade Woll, followed by an unassisted tally from Kelley Smith. Morgan Singer netted back-to-back goals, one assisted by Kennedy Jakubek, and Singer fed Caitlin Mertens to make the score 6-0.
The Hornets outshot their hosts 40-1 and held a 4-1 edge in corner kicks.
Stephanie Quirk and Quinn-Lynn Bates combined for 11 saves for the WildCats (1-6-1/0-2 ODAC).
Lynchburg (7-1/2-0) hosts Meredith College (NC) Thursday night at 6 p.m. in non-conference play.
