Lynchburg Volleyball drops to Randolph-Macon 3-0
Ashland, VA – The Lynchburg College volleyball team lost to Randolph-Macon College 3-0 Wednesday evening in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference match-up.
The first match was close throughout, but R-MC was able to pull out a 25-20 win. The Yellow Jackets were strong in the second game winning 25-15. The third set was another close game, however Randolph-Macon was able to pull out the 25-20 victory, sealing the game.
Junior Jen Garrett led the Hornets with eight kills and 12 digs. Amelia Dalton contributed seven kills, while Kelly Layne added four. Gabby Myers tallied 10 assists and Lynn Walsh had seven. Sam Page had 11 digs, while Mesa Willis and Anna Moore each had six.
Courtney Lowers led R-MC (13-1/4-0 ODAC) with 17 kills, while Katie Rossberg had eight. Erin Quinn had a game-high 16 assists to go along with 10 digs and Riley Martin tallied 14 assists. Samantha Sallade contributed 14 digs for the Yellow Jackets.
The Hornets (4-9/1-3 ODAC) will return to action on Friday night to play in a non-conference match-up against St. Mary's (MD). The game will be played at Randolph College at 5 p.m.
