Hannah Olds Delivers Hat Trick as #4 Hornet Women's Soccer wins 3-0 at Emory
ATLANTA, GA – Sophomore forward Hannah Olds scored all three of the game's goals Sunday to lead the fourth-ranked Lynchburg College women's soccer team to a 3-0 win at Emory University in non-conference play. The Eagles have been a thorn in the powerhouse Hornets side the last several years, with LC's last win against Emory coming in the 2008 NCAA Tournament.
After nearly 63 minutes of scoreless soccer, Olds collected a loose ball and from close range beat the keeper to put Lynchburg on the scoreboard. Senior Jade Woll found Olds seven minutes later on a counter to push the lead to two. Olds struck against with 11 minutes left on the game clock on an assist from Morgan Singer.
Emory outshot LC 13-10 and held a 5-2 edge in corner kicks. Hornet keeper Tess Frelick made four stops to earn the shutout, and Liz Arnold stopped five balls for Emory (7-3).
The Hornets (9-1) host Guilford College Wednesday at 5 p.m. in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference game.
