LC Men's Soccer wins first game of the season over NC Wesleyan 2-0
LYNCHBURG, VA - The Lynchburg College men's soccer defeated North Carolina Wesleyan College 2-0 Saturday night in a nonconference matchup to earn its first victory of the season.
LC would strike first off the foot of sophomore forward

th minute to make it 1-0 with the assist from
Thomas Salamone. It was a chippy first half between the both teams with two combined yellow cards with 12 fouls. The Hornets took the 1-0 lead into halftime.
LC came out firing in the second a half with an aggressive attack when
Nate Berning drew a penalty kick during the 39
th minute on a handball in the box, but NC Wesleyan keeper Jesper Olsson made an acrobatic save to keep the game at 1-0. The Hornets had several good scoring opportunities, including a shot that hit the cross bar, but couldn't net an insurance goal until late. Cory Budka had two saves to preserve the shutout.
LC had advantages in both shots (18-8) and corner kicks (5-2). Olsson finished with four saves for the Battling Bishops (1-1).
The Hornets (1-1) will travel to the Roanoke College Tournament next weekend with scheduled games Friday against William Peace College at 5 p.m. and Saturday against Greensboro College at 4 p.m.
