Box Score Roanoke, Va. -- After a solid team effort on offense Friday evening, the Lynchburg Men's Soccer defense staved off a fiery Messiah College attack and earned a draw with 0-0 score after Double Ovetime.
Sophomore goalkeeper Dylan McLaurin earned the shutout after saving all eight shots on goal and the Hornet back line held strong in regulation as the Falcons fired 13 shots of their 17 shots in the first two periods. Juniors Fredy Flores and Cameron Noonan got off some good shots but were the only Hornets to do so with 3 shots, all of which came in the first 20 minutes of the game.
Jacob Bender and David Alejos led the Falcons with 4 shots while goalkeeper Connor Bell also recorded a shutout and three saves.
The Hornets return to action when they host Greensboro, Juniata and Roanoke for the Shellenberger Classic next weekend, Sept. 10-11.
