Box Score Lynchburg, Va. -- Lynchburg College men's soccer team went all out on Senior Day to defeat rival Randolph-Macon 2-1 in an intense Old Dominion Athletic Conference match up.
Senior Jon Mackey (Leesburg, Va.) scored a goal for the Hornets on a penalty kick. Mackey has collected seven goals in his senior year.
Forward Fredy Flores (Alexandria, Va.) also scored a goal for Lynchburg with an assist from freshman Abibi Osman (Charlottesville, Va.).

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Both teams came out ready to play in the first half. Senior goalkeeper Sam Cannon (Ocean View, Del.) had two of the three saves for the Hornets in the first six minutes of play. Defense on each side was strong, allowing no one to score in the first half.
- The energy for Lynchburg picked up after Mackey scored the first goal for the Hornets on a penalty kick in the 55th minute of play.
- Flores made the most of his senior day scoring the Hornets second goal of the day giving Lynchburg a 2-0 lead.
- Defender Jacob McHugh put Randolph-Macon on the board in the 70th minute with a penalty kick scoring the Yellow Jackets only goal of the game.
LOOKING AHEAD
Lynchburg will finish the season against Virginia Wesleyan Tuesday, October 24 at 7 p.m. before heading into the ODAC tournament.
