Box Score Lynchburg, Va. -- Lynchburg College's women's soccer team couldn't overcome a first-half deficit, dropping a tight 1-0 Old Dominion Athletic Conference decision to Bridgewater College Wednesday night on Shellenberger Field.
Bailey Kratz scored the lone goal of the match for the Eagles, who beat Lynchburg for the first time in program history.
Wednesday's goal was just the second Bridgewater has ever scored against Lynchburg's women's soccer program and the first since Sept. 13, 2004. The Hornets fall to 19-1-1 all-time against their ODAC foes.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Kratz fielded a perfect cross from Keri Rager in front of the goal in the 38th minute, finishing with one touch for the only score of the match.
- Lynchburg had multiple opportunities to tie the match after intermission, but Eagles goalkeeper Hayley Talbott was there each time for the save. She piled up five, all in the second half.
- Caitlin Mertens (Succasunna, N.J.) led the LC offense with seven shots, two of them on frame.
- Delia LoSapio (Raleigh, N.C.) made two saves to keep the score 1-0.
LOOKING AHEAD
The Hornets will clash with Randolph-Macon on the road Saturday, Oct. 28 at noon in a match pivotal to ODAC tournament seeding.
