Box Score Lynchburg, Va. -- The University of Mary Washington's volleyball team was too much for Lynchburg College on Wednesday, cruising to a 25-23, 25-19, 25-19 non-conference sweep of the Hornets in Turner Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Mary Washington jumped into control of the first set, leading 19-13 until the Hornets came out of a timeout with renewed vigor. Lynchburg tied the set at 23, but the Eagles were able to hang on after a kill and an attack error.
- The Eagles controlled the net in the final two sets, hitting .273 and .250 in the second and third, respectively.
- Lauren Stanford (Mechanicsville, Va.) and Maral Tsolmon (Alexandria, Va.) led the Lynchburg defense with 13 and 12 digs, respectively.
- Sydney Frink (Chester, Va.) led the hitters with six kills, and Erin Farina (Charlottesville, Va.) had a team-high 11 assists.
LOOKING AHEAD
Lynchburg will look forward to Senior Night and their final regular-season match of 2017 on Friday, Oct. 27, when they'll play host to crosstown rival Randolph.
