Box Score Lynchburg, Va. -- Six different Lynchburg College's women's soccer players lit up the back of the net on the way to a 9-0 win over Randolph on Shellenburger Field Thursday night. It was the highest-scoring game for the Hornets this season.
Junior Kennedy Jakubek (Leesburg, Va.) and freshman Leah Dumas (Kennebunkport, Maine) each scored two goals for the Hornets.
Georgie Duggan (Stafford, Va.) scored a goal for the Hornets and assisted Caitlin Mertens' (Succasunna, N.J.) score. Mertens currently leads the team with eight goals.
The Hornets out-shot the WildCats 33-1 and posted their fifth shutout of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Hornets had four goals in the first half. Jakubek started the game off with a quick goal in the first 23 seconds of play and was later assisted by Rachel Cooke (Charlottesville, Va.) for another goal.

Dumas dominated in the second half, getting two goals with a assist from Mary Allman on the first. Sarah Wescott (Midlothian, Va.) got her second-career goal on a penalty kick and brought the Hornets up 7-0.

Freshman midfielder Rebecca Washburn (Suffolk, Va.) collected her first-career goal in the second half.
LOOKING AHEAD
The Hornets will travel to Lexington on Saturday, Oct. 7 to play Washington and Lee at noon.
