Atlanta, Ga. -- The Lynchburg College men's soccer team stayed perfect on the road Saturday with a 1-0 victory over 14th-ranked Oglethorpe.

Abibi Osman (Charlottesville, Va.) scored his first collegiate goal in the win, and Dylan McLaurin (Stafford, Va.) made saved three Stormy Petrel shots in his third shutout of the year.

HOW IT HAPPENED

- Oglethorpe controlled the match early, launching a pair of shots-on-goal that McLaurin saved between the 15th and 20th minutes.

- Lynchburg came out of halftime strong, though. Sherman Mitchell (Southbury, Conn.) and Collin Kashmer (Halifax, Va.) both put shots on frame that were saved by Oglethorpe keeper Luke Whelan.

- Osman finally broke through in the 70th minute, taking Ryan Pikunas' (Chesterfield, Va.) ball and scoring the game-winning goal.

- The Stormy Petrels had a chance to tie the match with a pair of corner kicks in the 88th minute, but McLaurin saved the would-be equalizer to preserve the LC win.

LOOKING AHEAD

The Hornets will spend the night in the Peach State and head to Mount Berry, Ga. on Monday for a 3 p.m. matchup with Berry College.
