Box Score Lynchburg, Va.-- The University of Lynchburg women's soccer team ran its winning streak to four matches Saturday with a 5-1 victory over the Hornets of Shenandoah University in Old Dominion Athletic Conference play.
Senior forward Hannah Olds (Wilmington, N.C.) collected two goals for the Hornets. Freshman midfielder Taylor Smith (Chesapeake, Va.), senior defender Brooke Kowalski (Wayne, N.J.), and senior midfielder Kennedy Jakubek (Leesburg, Va.) each earned a goal for Lynchburg.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Lynchburg started the game with an early goal from Olds on an assist from senior forward Caitlin Mertens (Succasunna, N.J.) in the sixth minute.

The Hornets kept the momentum going with an unassisted goal from Kowalski giving Lynchburg a 2-0 lead in the eighth minute.

Olds scored in her second goal off a corner kick, as Smith's corner found senior midfielder Rachel Cooke (Charlottesville, Va.), who headed the ball to Olds for the goal.

Lynchburg finished the first half ahead 4-0 after an unassisted goal from Smith.

Jakubek expanded the Lynchburg lead with an unassisted goal in the second half before Shenandoah broke up the shutout late.
