Box Score Lynchburg, Va. -- The fifth-ranked University of Lynchburg men's soccer team played Old Dominion Athletic Conference rival Washington and Lee to a 1-1 draw Saturday night at home.
The clash was a reprise of the past two ODAC championship matches, both of which Lynchburg has won.
Late in the Hornets looked like they were going to take the 2018 regular-season installment as well, when freshman forward Joey Daly (Raleigh, N.C.) gave Lynchburg the lead in the 85th minute. But W&L responded with the equalizer in the 88th, and the teams battled through overtime to the draw.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-
Both teams thwarted scoring opportunities in the first half as Lynchburg held a 5-4 advantage on shots at intermission. Senior goalkeeper Dylan McLaurin (Stafford, Va.) made two of his four saves in the first half.
-
Lynchburg took control after the break, possessing the ball much of the second half. The Hornets finally broke through in the 85th when junior forward Hussein Osman (Charlottesville, Va.) took a shot that W&L keeper Michael Nyc saved, but the rebound went to Daly, who finished from close range.
-
The lead didn't last long, as the Generals' Kevin Lencioni found Jack Rawlins far post on a corner kick to knot the score at the 87:50 mark.
-
Lynchburg out-shot the Generals, 6-2, in the final 22:10 and took four corner kicks to W&L's none, but the Hornets couldn't find the golden goal.
