Box Score Lynchburg, Va.-- The University of Lynchburg volleyball team dominated visiting Greensboro Tuesday night in a 3-0 non-conference sweep, 25-21, 25-22, 25-4.
Junior Sydney Frink (Chester, Va.) earned 14 kills at the net, hitting a scalding .406 for the match. Junior Lauren Stanford (Mechanicsville, Va.) and freshman Flinn Christian (Columbia, S.C.) owned the back row, each collecting 14 digs. Stanford, along with fellow junior Erin Farina (Crozet, Va.) each served three aces against Greensboro. Farina set a new personal record with three solo blocks at the net.

HOW IT HAPPENED

In the first set Greensboro went on a four point scoring spree that was quickly stopped after a kill by freshman middle Bria Hayward (Newport News, Va.). From there, the Hornets were able to rally back with help from Farina's three aces in a row, giving Lynchburg the win.

Lynchburg went in to the second set with fire, leaping to a comfortable 17-11 lead. Greensboro came back to tie the set at 18 before the Hornets rallied to take the set, 25-22.

The Hornets blew away Greensboro in the final set going on an impressive 14-point rally with freshman Annie Tynes (Glen Allen, Va.) behind the service line. Lynchburg won the set in a quick 25-4 victory. Farina's three blocks all came in the third set.
LOOKING AHEAD
The Hornets will play again Thursday, Sept. 27 at 7 p.m. in Turner Gymnasium, welcoming new Old Dominion Athletic Conference member Ferrum into the league with the first-ever conference match between the two schools.
