Box Score Hampden Sydney, Va. -- Abibi Osman's brace paced the University of Lynchburg offense, but the Hornets' men's soccer team battled Hampden-Sydney to a 3-3 Old Dominion Athletic Conference draw Saturday on the road.
Osman opened the scoring in the 12th minute on an assist from Ben Mackey and scored his second goal -- Lynchburg's third of the evening -- unassisted in the 49th.
H-SC (8-5-1, 3-0-1 ODAC) had an answer for all three of Lynchburg's goals. The Tigers' Josh McCormack equalized the score at 1 in the 35th minute, but the Hornets (4-3-5, 1-0-2) retook the lead in the 40th on Griffin Phillips' first-career goal.
The Tigers evened the score, 2-2, just before halftime when Niko Renison found the back of the net.
Osman's second goal gave the Hornets a 3-2 lead, but H-SC knotted the score at 3 in the 71st minute, and neither team was able to break through again.
Lynchburg's men's soccer team will return to ODAC action on the road Wednesday at No. 9 Washington and Lee. The two rivals played to a scoreless draw Sept. 25 in a non-conference clash.
