Box Score Virginia Beach, Va. -- Luke Mega scored twice, Ben Mackey added the first goal, and University of Lynchburg's men's soccer team won its third-straight game with a 3-1 victory over Old Dominion Athletic Conference foe Virginia Wesleyan Saturday on the road.
Mackey put the Hornets (7-4-5, 4-1-2 ODAC) on the board with an unassisted 19th-minute goal, and Lynchburg took that 1-0 lead into the halftime break.
Mega tied his shoes right in the second half and added his two goals, the first in the 48th minute on a Seth Dale assist and the second coming on Carter Averette's 61st-minute assist.
VWU (6-10, 3-4) cut the deficit in the 75th minute when Devin Wallace found the back of the Hornets' net.
With the win, Lynchburg captured its first three-match win streak of the season. The Hornets will look to extend that run to four straight in the final regular-season match of the year, Tuesday, Oct. 29 versus Guilford.
Lynchburg will celebrate its 10 members of the Class of 2020 prior to first whistle.
