Women's soccer drops third straight

Winchester, Va. -- University of Lynchburg's women's soccer team suffered a 2-1 loss at Shenandoah Sunday in Old Dominion Athletic Conference play.

After Lynchburg (9-6-1, 4-4 ODAC) fell behind 2-0 early in the second half, senior forward Alyssa Rudy cut the deficit in half with a 55th-minute goal.

SU (11-6, 6-3) got goals from Abby Alexa and Taylor Morris.

The loss was Lynchburg's third-straight, the Hornets' first three-match losing streak since the 2006 season. It was Shenandoah's first win over Lynchburg in the teams' 12 meetings.

Lynchburg will try to get back into the win column Wednesday, Oct. 30 with a 6 p.m. ODAC match at Guilford.
