Box Score Lynchburg, Va. -- University of Lynchburg's volleyball team celebrated Senior Day by earning its second straight victory Saturday, beating the Guilford Quakers, 18-25, 25-18, 25-13, 21-25, 15-13 in Old Dominion Athletic Conference action.
Sydney Frink led the Hornets with 14 kills and helped the Hornets stay hot on the attack. Lynchburg hit over .200 as a team for the second-straight match.
Lauren Stanford had a match-high 26 digs, Alexis Davies-Hackenberg and Erin Farina both contributed over 20 assists to go along with five blocks from Disa Haugsdahl.
After dropping the first set, Lynchburg rebounded to take the second and third and the match's momentum along with it. The Hornets trailed 7-4 early in the deciding fifth set but stormed back behind strong defense to tie the score, 7-7, took the lead at 9-8, and held on to capture the set and the match.
The Hornets (12-6, 3-3 ODAC) have won four of their last five matches and look to continue their winning ways against Hollins in Turner Gymnasium on Wednesday, Oct. 9 at 6:30 p.m.
