Lynchburg, Va. -- Despite 18 kills and 11 digs from senior Sydney Frink, the University of Lynchburg volleyball team fell in straight sets to Washington and Lee in the ODAC-opening match for both squads.

The Hornets (7-2) we able to stay competitive throughout the night but came up short, losing the first set 25-21 and the last two sets by a score of 25-20.

Senior libero Lauren Stanford led the Hornets with 14 digs while freshman hitter Abbi Leeper racked up eight kills during the match. 

For the Generals (7-1), Brynne Gould had 13 kills to go along with eight digs and two blocks.

Lynchburg's volleyball team is back in action Wednesday, Sept. 18, when they travel to Averett University (0-7) to face the Cougars at 7 p.m.
