Junior goalkeeper Kyle Gallagher had a career day, making 11 saves, besting his previous career high of nine.
The Lynchburg defense was tested early as the Generals (6-1-2) got off nine shots on goal in the first half, compared to the Hornets' six.
Lynchburg's defense was on display all night as a number of Hornet defenders recorded blocked shots and neutralized the Generals offense on its 10 total corners.

Both teams made runs in the extra time, but none bigger than W&L's late push. With 1:38 to go in the second overtime period, the Generals had a golden opportunity as Harry Pinkerton broke past the defense and finished, but the goal was called off due to offsides.
The Hornets made a last-ditch effort of their own, but Osman's shot was saved as W&L keeper Michael Nyc came out to greet the forward.
