Box Score Roanoke, Va. -- University of Lynchburg women's soccer wrapped up conference play with an 11-0 win over Hollins Wednesday evening.
Alix Allen was the first of 10 Lynchburg players to score a goal, finding the back of the net 2:25 into play. Kelsey Seery recorded her first-career assist on the score. Ann Doyle also earned a career-first, notching her first-collegiate goal in the 17th minute. Sydney Dombrovskis netted her first of two goals just over ten minutes later.
Lynchburg took seven more shots after Dombrovskis' score, but went into halftime with a 3-0 lead.
The flood gates opened instantly after the break as the Hornets scored four goals before the 53rd minutes. Lindsey Grady, Megan Dee, Ella Tampio-Iorns, and Grace Milligan contributed to the scoring outburst.
Laura Mason (yes, the goaltender Laura Mason), took five shots in the match as a field player and converted one opportunity into a goal at the 72:50 mark. Mason's first-career score was the first of three Lynchburg goals in 52 seconds. Abbie Little scored her first-career goal 32 seconds after Mason and Dombrovskis grabbed her second goal of the contest 20 seconds after that.
With four seconds left in the match, Lynchburg drew a penalty in the box and senior goaltender Kate Duncan scored the penalty kick, capping off the Hornets' 11-0 win over Hollins.
Lynchburg (13-3, 8-2 ODAC) await results from the rest of the league to determine their seeding in the conference tournament. With 24 points in the standings, Lynchburg will host a playoff game at Shellenberger Field, but can be seeded anywhere from the one, two, or three seed. The Hornets end their regular season against Christopher Newport on Saturday, Oct. 30 at 5 p.m.
