Lynchburg, Va. -- University of Lynchburg women's soccer earned their ninth-straight win Wednesday night. The 23rd-ranked Hornets defeated Randolph 2-0 after two second-half goals. 

The Hornets took ten shots in the first half, but headed into halftime without a goal to show for their efforts. 

Lynchburg finally broke through in the 56th minute on their fifth shot of the second half. Meghan Lauder sent a ball into the box and Lindsey Grady converted it into the go-ahead goal with a header.

The Hornets kept pushing after Grady's second goal of the season. Taylor Smith lined up for Lynchburg's third corner kick of the half. She sent the cross in and Alix Allen buried the ball into the goal with a header. Allen, the reigning Old Dominion Athletic Conference player of the week, has three goals over the last four matches.

On the opposite side of the field, Jade Lecklider tallied her second-career shutout. 

Lynchburg (9-1, 4-0 ODAC) is ranked 23rd in the United Soccer Coaches poll and 24th in the DIII Soccer poll. The Hornets also are ranked as the third-best team in the region by the United Soccer Coaches.
