Box Score Ashland, Va. -- Luke Mega and Brennan Lagana each scored goals to lead University of Lynchburg's men's soccer team to a 2-1 road victory over Randolph-Macon Sunday evening in Old Dominion Athletic Conference play.
After quick pressure from Randolph-Macon, the Hornets took control of the match early in the first half and quickly got on top when Kenny Robles assisted Mega's 11th-minute goal.
Lynchburg continued the sustained attack in the first half with five shots and a pair of corner-kick opportunities but went into halftime with the one-goal advantage.
The Hornets continued to dictate the match in the second half and scored shortly after a 65th-minute corner kick, when Josh Auger found Lagana, who put the ball into the back of the R-MC net.
The Yellow Jackets ruined the shutout on Ruben Niamien's 85th minute goal, but Lynchburg's defense held the hosts off in the waning minutes earn the Hornets a victory.
Mega and Manzi Shalita highlighted the stat sheet for Lynchburg with three shots apiece.
Lynchburg (5-2-1, 5-1-1 ODAC) will return home to Shellenberger Field to wrap up regular-season play Saturday, April 3 at 1 p.m. versus Washington and Lee. The program will celebrate its five seniors prior to the whistle.
