Box Score Lynchburg, Va. -- Four different University of Lynchburg men's soccer players scored Sunday as the Hornets rolled to a 4-0 victory over Virginia Wesleyan on Shellenberger Field.
Senior Bhayle Kearns opened the scoring in the 11th minute, making use of a Kenny Robles assist for an early Hornets lead. Senior Ben Mackey added an unassisted score in the 20th minute to send Lynchburg into halftime with a two-goal cushion.
The Hornets added to the tally after the break as Mackey found sophomore Luke Mega in the 58th minute to put the hosts ahead 3-0, and senior Nick Foley finished in the 70th minute to put the match out of reach.
Goalkeepers Kyle Gallagher and Justin Ennis combined on the shutout, making four saves for the Hornets (2-0-1, 2-0-1 ODAC). Lynchburg out-shot the Marlins by a 21-8 margin.
Lynchburg will return to play with the only non-conference match on the spring schedule Wednesday, when the Hornets will head across town to take on Division I Liberty University. The whistle will blow at 5 p.m.
