Virginia Beach, Va. -- University of Lynchburg men's soccer senior Luke Mega lifted the Hornets over Va. Wesleyan with a late goal Saturday afternoon. 

Mega's ninth goal of the season completed the second-half comeback for 25th-ranked Lynchburg and kept the Hornets undefeated. 

Brennan Lagana nearly gave Lynchburg an early lead, but Va. Wesleyan's keeper Griffin Potter made the save. The Marlins got on the board four minutes after Lagana's chance and held onto the lead for the remainder of the half. 

Lynchburg goalkeeper Justin Ennis made two saves early on to keep the Hornets within striking distance. In the 68th minute, Mega found Liam Lovell for the equalizer. Lovell earned his third goal of the season on the play, and Mega tallied assist No. 3.

The Hornets turned the pressure up after Mega's goal testing Potter often. With six minutes remaining the Hornets finally broke through. Mega ripped a shot on a ball rolling across the box and finished far post for the go-ahead score. 

Both teams drew cautions after the score, but neither squad took a shot as Lynchburg stayed undefeated. The Hornets are also undefeated against the Marlins in six-straight matches since 2016.

Lynchburg (6-0-4) hosts 12th-ranked Washington and Lee on Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 7 p.m.
