Box Score Lynchburg, Va. -- Abbi Leeper put down a career-high 23 kills, Mya Green dished out 47 assists, and University of Lynchburg's volleyball team recovered from a slow start to defeat crosstown rival Randolph College, 23-25, 25-16, 25-17, 25-23, Tuesday night in Turner Gym.
Leeper hit .327 on her historic evening and also collected nine digs. Green chipped in 13 digs for her 10th double-double of the season, and Cassi Blackmore totaled a team-best 17 digs.
Randolph pulled out the victory in the opening set, but the Hornets responded in kind in the second, hitting .387 in the set to even the match with a 25-16 victory. The Hornets won the third easily and held off a late run in the fourth to solidify the four-set win.
Princess Salifou added nine kills, two blocks, and an assist for Lynchburg, while the Hornets also got nine digs and two aces from both Jordan Bartemeyer and Morgan Clarke.
Lynchburg (9-9, 3-4 ODAC) will continue its conference homestand Friday at 5 p.m. against Roanoke.
