Box Score Lynchburg, Va. -- University of Lynchburg's volleyball team served up a season-high 17 aces Friday evening in the Hornets' 25-20, 25-14, 25-17 sweep of Old Dominion Athletic Conference rival Roanoke inside Turner Gymnasium.
Abbi Leeper and Princess Salifou led the Hornets with seven kills apiece, and Sophia Rucker added four kills, three aces, three digs, and two blocks.
Lynchburg fell behind early in the first set but came back in the middle of the stanza with a 10-2 run to take the lead. The Hornets never trailed by more than three points again in the match.
Rucker, Kailey Keough, Cassi Blackmore, Morgan Clarke, and Mya Green all had three aces for Lynchburg. Green added a team-high 29 assists, while Blackmore led the back line with eight digs.
Lynchburg (10-9, 4-4 ODAC) will continue its Homecoming weekend homestand Saturday at 11 a.m. against Ferrum.
