Virginia Beach, Va. -- University of Lynchburg women's soccer battled Virginia Wesleyan to a 0-0 draw Wednesday evening. 

The Hornets made the trip up to the beach sporting an undefeated conference record with six wins and took on the 23rd-ranked Marlins. Lynchburg outshot the Marlins 19-17, and junior goalkeeper Jade Lecklider made eight saves, but the two teams finished up the 90 minutes of action scoreless. Lynchburg still sits atop the ODAC standings with 19 points and 6-0-1 record. 

Maddy Myers initiated the first scoring opportunity for either team in the 12th minute with a shot saved by Va. Wesleyan's keeper Rachel Quigley. The Hornets fed off the early pressure and kept the shots coming with another shot on frame from Ida Swisher and a shot off the crossbar from Sophie Walsh. Quigley was called on to make six saves in the first half, and Lecklider held serve with three stops of her own. 

In the second half, The Marlins tried to flip the script and outshot the Hornets 11-8. Lecklider came up big with six more saves including two in the final 10 minutes. Lecklider's eight saves are a season-high and her most since stopping 10 shots against the Marlins during the ODAC championship on Nov. 7, 2021. 

Lynchburg (8-2-5, 6-0-1 ODAC) continues running the gauntlet of the top teams in the ODAC and takes on Bridgewater at 11 a.m. on the road Saturday, Oct. 22.
