Box Score Lynchburg, Va. -- University of Lynchburg's volleyball team saw its seven-match home win streak come to an end Wednesday evening at the hands of Virginia Wesleyan, 25-18, 25-15, 25-21, in a late-season Old Dominion Athletic Conference contest.
Princess Salifou led the Hornets with eight kills and two blocks, and Abbi Leeper and Bree Spainhour added six kills apiece. Mya Green dished out a match-high 23 assists, Cassi Blackmore had 10 digs, and Sophia Rucker totaled four blocks for Lynchburg.
Virginia Wesleyan enjoyed hot hitting all evening. The Marlins played to a .333 attack percentage in the first set and improved that to .483 in the second while also serving 11 aces in the match.
Lynchburg (13-11, 5-5 ODAC) will close out the regular season with a weekend road trip to the Shenandoah Valley, starting with Friday's 6:30 p.m. match at Shenandoah and wrapping with a 11 a.m. Saturday contest at Eastern Mennonite. One win can cement the Hornets a spot in next week's ODAC tournament.
