Box Score Lynchburg, Va. -- University of Lynchburg women's soccer unleashed a scoring frenzy during its conference opener with a 6-0 win at Randolph Saturday afternoon.
Megan Dee and Ella Tampio-Iorns both scored twice, and Victoria Newman and Abbie Little each tallied goals as well.
The Hornets jumped on the WildCats early with a goal from Dee in the 10th minute. Isa Swisher assisted on the play. Tampio-Iorns doubled the lead 10 minutes before halftime finishing with a strike on the far side netting.
Dee scored again in the 55th minute for her first multigoal game since scoring twice against Eastern Mennonite on Nov. 4, 2019. Tampio-Iorns also scored a second goal in the match. The sophomore found the back of the net four times in her freshman campaign including a two-goal day in her first-career match on Sept. 4 2021.
As the Hornets poured it on in the second half, Abbie Little and Victoria Newman both tallied their first goals of the season.
The Lynchburg defense almost entirely muted the Randolph attack, only allowing two shots all day. The Hornets boast three matches this season where they only allowed two shots. Lynchburg's six-goal victory is its largest advantage since the Hornets took down Hollins 11-0 on Oct. 27, 2021.
Jade Lecklider played the first 45 minutes of the shutout while Kate Shepherd and Meredith Bowers combined to complete the clean-sheet with one save apiece.
