Box Score Harrisonburg, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg men's soccer squad finished its sixth ODAC contest of the season in a scoreless draw against Eastern Mennonite on Saturday night at EMU Turf Field.
The Hornets (6-2-3, 4-1-1) earned their first draw of conference play this season. Lynchburg's defense has been the strongest area of the squad as no opponent has scored in the team's last four outings. Coming into tonight's affair, the squad ranked second in the ODAC in goals allowed this season with an average of 0.6 per game.Â
The stout defense stood tall in the matchup tonight, refusing the Royals a single shot all game. The Hornets fired off a whopping 29 shots, including 11 on goal, while holding EMU without any. Graduate
Manzi Shalita paced the Lynchburg offense with a team-leading seven total shots. Five other Hornets struck multiple shots toward the woodwork, including sophomore
Chris Wiley and fifth year
Zach Whelan with four.
Lynchburg's next outing will be against the Bridgewater Eagles on Wednesday, October 16 at 4 p.m.
