Lynchburg, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg men's soccer team welcomes the No. 20 Washington and Lee Generals to Shellenberger Field on Saturday at 2 p.m. for a clash on Lynchburg's Homecoming Weekend. 

The Hornets (7-2-3, 5-1-1) have claimed victory in four of their last five contests, all against conference opponents. Lynchburg has refused to allow any goals in each of its last five outings, outscoring opponents during that span by a margin of 7-0. In 12 games this season, the Hornets have allowed the least amount of goals in the ODAC with six, three less than the next two closest ODAC foes in the statistical category.

Lynchburg and Washington and Lee last met on the pitch in the ODAC Championship on Nov. 5, 2023, where the Hornets took down the Generals, 3-1. In the overall series since 1999, Lynchburg trails with a record of 10-14-7. The Generals defeated the Hornets in the regular season last year on Oct. 25, 2023. 

Washington and Lee's last outing resulted in a 1-1 draw against Shenandoah. The Generals last dropped a match against Covenant College, 3-0, on September 7. The visiting squad has yet to lose a match in ODAC play this season, boasting a record of 4-0-2 in conference and 8-3-2 overall. W&L's top scorer, Weyimi Agbeyegbe, currently leads the ODAC in goals this season with 10 in 13 games played. He also has five assists on the season and leads the conference in points. 

Following Saturday's matchup, the Hornets will return to Shellenberger Field on Wednesday, October 23 to take on Hampden-Sydney at 7 p.m.
