Lynchburg, Va. -- The Lynchburg women's soccer team (7-4-2) is back in action at home this Saturday, Oct. 19, as they host Randolph-Macon (8-2-4) for their senior day on homecoming at 2:30 p.m.
The Hornets enter this contest blazing hot. Lynchburg has dominated in the last three contests, winning all three and outscoring their opponents 11-0 over that stretch. The Lynchburg offense has erupted, six Hornets have tallied 2+ goals thus far, and
Madelyn Boyce leads the way with seven.
The Randolph-Macon Yellow Jackets have opened conference play by proving they are one of the top teams in the ODAC. With a conference record of 5-1, Randolph-Macon currently sits in second place in the ODAC standings. In a similar fashion to the Hornets, RMC has won its last three matches with three straight shutouts.
While also allowing under a goal per game this season, the Yellow Jackets have proved to have one of the most high-powered offenses in the ODAC, with 40 goals on the year.
This will be the 35th meeting between the two programs. Lynchburg has handily controlled the series with an all-time record of 30-3-1. However, that gap has begun to tighten recently, with all three RMC wins and ties coming in the past six years.
The seniors that will be recognized on Saturday will be:
Meredith Bowers
McKenna Dahm
Haleigh Casey
Meghan Lauder
Elora Grochowski
Lacey Garner
Claire Lloyd
Sydney Dombrovskis
Leilianis Irigoyen
Ella Tampio-Iorns
Anne Zerkle
