Lynchburg, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg women's soccer team is on the road for a midweek matchup on Wednesday, October 23 to battle the Bridgewater Eagles at 4 p.m.
The Hornets (8-4-2, 5-0-1) are riding a four-game win streak, out-scoring their opponents 15-1 in the span. Lynchburg has risen their way up in the ODAC standings, taking sole possession of second place with 16 total points.
Most recently, the Hornets hosted the Randolph-Macon Yellow Jackets on their senior day. Lynchburg found themselves in an early deficit, as Randolph-Macon scored in the first 25 seconds of the match. Just under eight minutes later, the Hornets scored the equalizer and never looked back, beating the Yellow Jackets 4-1. Four different Hornets found the back of the net and will look to do the same against Bridgewater.
For Bridgewater, this will be their seventh match up of the season against an ODAC opponent. In the out of character season for the Eagles, they are continuing to spread the ball around totaling 24 goals as a team, which is 10th in the ODAC.
When the teams take the pitch on Wednesday, it will be the 29th time they will have met in which Lynchburg has had control with an all time record of 22-4-2. Within the past two years, Lynchburg and Bridgewater are knotted up with an even 1-1 record against each other.
After the stint with the Eagles, the Hornets will take their talents to Shenandoah University. The dual Hornet match up is set to take place in Winchester, Va. on Saturday, October 26 at 4:30 p.m.
