Lynchburg, Va. -- The Lynchburg women's volleyball team took down the Ferrum Panthers, 3-0, while celebrating their seniors.
The Hornets played strong offensively from the opening serve, coming out with a 16-7 opening advantage.
Tori Williamson and
Leah DiNardo led the way with three kills a piece over that stretch. Lynchburg would go on to claim the first frame, 25-18 with a .514 hitting percentage.
In the second set, the Hornets' offense began to cool down, but were anchored by a stout defense. Williams and Morgan Clark's combined 29 digs on the night, accompanied by a 7-0 run with
Emma Cash at the service line, would catapult Lynchburg to a 25-23 victory.
Sydney Phillips began the third frame with a service ace, as the Hornets would cruise to a 25-18 win to capture the sweep.
Lynchburg will face Averett, their second-to-last ODAC opponent of the regular season, this Saturday, Oct. 6, in Danville.
