Women's Soccer Travels to Shenandoah for Battle of the Hornets

Lynchburg, Va. -- The Lynchburg women's soccer (8-4-3) team looks to continue their hot-streak as they travel to Winchester for an ODAC clash with Shennandoah (8-7-2).

Prior to a 1-1 tie to Bridgewater in their most recent match, the Hornets had won four consecutive games while outscoring their opponents 15-1. This stretch has catapulted Lynchburg to fourth in the conference standings, as they still have an opportunity to climb with three conference games remaining.

Shenandoah enters this match after a dominant 9-0 win over Hollins that snapped a two game losing skid. The Shennandoah offense is conducted by McKenna Newcome, with seven goals and three assists this season. Defensivley, Kasie Kilmer has been invaluable between the pipes. Kilmer has the third most shutouts in the ODAC this year with six thus far.

In the last 10 meetings between the two programs Lynchburg has controlled the series 8-1-1, including three consecutive Lynchburg wins since 2020.

Following this affair the Hornets will return home for a match against Hollins on Wednesay, Oct. 30, at 6 p.m.
