No. 24 Men's Soccer Regular Season Finale Versus Shenandoah

Lynchburg, Va. -- The Lynchburg men's soccer team (9-2-4) heads to Shenandoah (10-5-3) this Wednesday, Oct. 30, to close out their regular season slate.

A date between the number one offense and defense in the ODAC.

The Hornets control their own destiny for postseason play with this contest. With a win, Lynchburg locks in a regular season championship and the opportunity to host the entirety of the ODAC tournament. However, with a tie or loss, the Hornets are at the mercy of their peers, and could potentially drop out of the top four.

Lynchburg hasn't suffered a loss since late September; and in October, the Hornets have taken care of business, going 6-0-2. While the defense has continued to prove they are one of the best collective units in the ODAC, offensive play has steadily improved throughout the year. After just two of seven matches with 2+ goals before October, the Hornets have flipped the script with 2+ in five of eight this month.

Meanwhile, a win for Shenandoah opens to door to finish in the top four and host a tournament game of their own. Shenandoah has proven they're a force to be reckoned with in the ODAC, leading the conference in goals with 42 and 2.3 goals per game. Nathan Yared leads his squad and the conference with 13 goals this season, and teammate, Chinedu Ikem, is right behind him in third with nine goals.

Nonetheless, battling a squad that has held their opponents to 0.53 goals per game, something will have to give.
