Lynchburg, Va. -- The Hornets women's soccer team (9-4-3)wraps up their regular season home schedule with a meeting against Hollins (3-10) this Wednesday, Oct. 30.
The Hornets enter this contest coming off a victory against Shenandoah on the road. Lynchburg has rolled through conference play, still yet to record a loss at 6-0-2. This is a large part due to the hot streak Olsen and company have found in October. The team has not lost a game in the last seven contests.
Madelyn Boyce has been instrumental for the Lynchburg offense over this stretch, recording five goals. Boyce currently leads the team with nine on the season, which ties her for sixth overall in the conference.
This season's defense has been the Achilles heel for Hollins, allowing a conference-high 6.31 goals per game. Hollins has held opponents under this mark four times this season.
The Hornets have an opportunity to jump into second place in the ODAC standings with a win or tie against Hollins. Lynchburg has handily controlled the series between the two schools, winning all 17 matches since 1999. Additionally, the Hornets have won the last five meetings all by double figures.
