Lynchburg, Va -- The University of Lynchburg women's volleyball squad takes on Roanoke this Friday, October 4 at 7 p.m. in Turner Gym.
The last time the Hornets (10-9) and the Maroons (10-5) met was a tight match that went all the way to a tie-breaking fifth set. The scores of each set were close, the gap of the score never exceeding 5 points. The Hornets ultimately fell to the Maroons 2-3 in the final set. Lynchburg still narrowly holds the series though, leading the Maroons 17-14 since 1999.Â
The Hornets come into this match looking to extend the winning streak after a 3-1 win against Marymount this past Saturday, where they amounted 50 kills in the four sets. The Maroons also earned a win this week as they shut out Hollins University in a 3-0 win on Tuesday.Â
The Hornets are back on the court next Wednesday, October 9 at 6 p.m. to square up against Virginia Wesleyan.
