Women's Soccer Heads to Virginia Wesleyan

Lynchburg, Va. -- The Lynchburg women's soccer team (4-4-2) head to Virginia Beach tomorrow, Tuesday, Oct. 8, for an ODAC contest vs. Virginia Wesleyan (2-3-3).

This will be the 29th meeting between the two schools, with Lynchburg controlling the series 11-7-10. Nonetheless, the Hornets have not claimed a victory since 1018, with the last three meetings ending in a draw and the four prior as a victory fot the Marlins.

Virginia Wesleyan enters this contest with a two game win streak, including a dominant 4-0 victory over Eastern Mennonite. The Marlins currently sport one of the top defenses in teh ODAC, allowing a conference second best, five total goals on the season. However, offensively the Marlins have just tallied seven goals for themselves this season, tied for the lowest in the conference.

The Lynchburg Hornets come into this affair after a three game home stand, going 1-1-1 against three ODAC opponents. Lynchburg currently sits at fifth overall in the ODAC, but has a chance to climb the conference standing against the VWU who finds themselves at second.
