Lynchburg, Va. -- The Lynchburg women's soccer team wraps up their regular season schedule on the road this Saturday, Nov. 2, against Ferrum (13-4-1).
Lynchburg currently stands at second in the ODAC standings, four points behind first place W&L and two points ahead of VWU and RMC. With just one game remaining, the Hornets can secure the second overall seed. Additionally, with regular-season victories over the teams behind Lynchburg, a tie would also result in the second seed.
Ferrum finds itself in an extremely competitive portion of the ODAC standings as well. Teams six through 10 are separated by just four points. As a result, the standings could look drastically different once the dust settles on Saturday evening.
The Hornets enter this affair on a two-game win streak and their most dominant victory over Hollins, 10-0. Lynchburg has still yet to lose in a game since Oct. 2 and remains unbeaten in their last eight contests.
Junior forward,
Madelyn Boyce is also one goal away from recording double-digit goals in regular season play. The last time this was done by a Hornet was in 2019 by Amanda Wigboldy.
Nonetheless, the Hornet's defense will have their hands full against a Ferrum squad that leads the ODAC in goals this season with 59, and 3.3 per game. The Panthers sport two players with double-digit goals on the season, highlighted by Bri Bitz's leads the ODAC with 19.
