Lexington, Va. -- The Lynchburg Hornets fell in a three-set sweep to No. 12 Washington & Lee in the conference semifinal match.
Lynchburg kept each set narrow, but the Generals continued to edge the Hornets with quick offensive spurts. Additionally, the Washington & Lee front line made it difficult for Lynchburg to find a rhythm. The Generals recorded 10 blocks on the night and held the Hornets to an attacking percentage of .182.
The Hornets finish the season with 19 wins and 12 losses. Lynchburg tallied eight conference wins on the season as well. In his first season as head coach, Kevin Cardoza and company led the program to its first conference tournament win since 2017.
With two seniors on this year's team, one of which was sidelined this season and will return for the 2025 campaign, the Hornets can feel extremely optimistic about their future.
The Generals remain perfect in conference play, unbeaten against ODAC opponents this year with a sweep in all but one of those matches. Washington & Lee will face Virginia Wesleyan in the ODAC championship game.
