Lynchburg, Va. -- The Hornets (16-11) are headed to the nation's capitol for two non-conference games to close out their regular season schedule. This Friday, Nov. 8, Lynchburg will play Catholic (14-18) at 3:30 pm and Marymount (9-20) at 5 pm.
This will be the second time this season that Lynchburg has played both of these teams as the three were all a part of the Worthington Classic in late November.
The last time Lynchburg faced Catholic, the Hornets won in a three-set sweep. At the time, this was just the third Hornet sweep of the season. Now, Lynchburg finds themselves playing their best brand of ball of the season at just the right time. The Hornets have won five of their last six games, all of those victories in three sets. The last time Lynchburg and Marymount squared off, the Hornets prevailed with a 3-1 final score.
If Lynchburg wins their final two games of the regular season they will finish with 18 regular season victories. This mark would tie the most for the program since 2016.
Following these two matches, the Hornets will return to Turner and host their ODAC quarterfinal matchup.
