Ashland, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg baseball team fell to Randolph-Macon 6-3 on Wednesday.
The Yellow Jackets scored six consecutive runs all before the fifth inning to take down the Hornets. All six earned runs were credited to the starter Colin McGuire, but six Lynchburg relievers out of the bullpen shut out the Yellow Jackets the rest of the way.
Lynchburg left 13 runners on base including leaving the bases loaded in the fifth. However, Sean Pokorak drove in the first run of the game for the Hornets with the bases loaded in the sixth. Brandon Garcia also tallied an RBI on a sacrifice fly in the inning, then drove in another run with another sacrifice fly in the eighth. He didn't have a hit in the contest for the first time in five games, but he added a walk to his two-RBI day. Quinn Madden led the way at the dish with two hits, good for his 15th multihit game of the season.
The Hornets (21-12, 10-7 ODAC) host No. 22 Shenandoah for a double-header on Senior Day beginning at noon on Saturday, April 20.
