Lynchburg, Va. - The Lynchburg women's soccer team opens up their 2024 fall regular season schedule this weekend at the Kean Kickoff Tournament, in Union, N.J.

Their weekend begins on the pitch with a matchup against Stockton on Friday at 4 pm. 

On Saturday, the Hornets take on the University of Kean at 1 pm to wrap up the weekend tournament. This will be the first time in program history that Lynchburg will face either of these schools. 

After falling short of an ODAC championship appearance last season for the first time since 2020, the Hornets look to take the first step back to the mountaintop this weekend. 

This year's group is highlighted by an upperclassmen group that is riddled with experience.

"It's unique because it's an older team, we have some really good experience. We have some players that have been playing since freshman year, and that's huge," said head coach Todd Olsen. 

Additionally, this weekend will be a fantastic opportunity for a talented freshman class that includes 12 new Hornets. This year's freshman class is the largest on the team, followed by 11 seniors, six sophomores, and five juniors.
