The two programs last met in the ODAC semifinals on Nov. 1, 2023, which resulted in a 3-2 overtime victory for Lynchburg after midfielder
Zach Whelan netted the game-winning goal in extra time. Less than a month before that outing on Oct. 14, 2023, the Marlins claimed a 1-0 victory against the Hornets.Â
After this weekend's competition, Lynchburg travels to Danville, Va. for a matchup against Averett on Wednesday, October 2 at 7 p.m. before coming back home to host Randolph-Macon and Randolph.
