Lynchburg, Va. - The Lynchburg women's soccer team travels to Salem this weekend for a two-game slate in the Roanoke Classic.
On Saturday, the Hornets will take the pitch for a match against Hardin-Simmons at 4:30 pm. This will be the second meeting all-time between the two programs, Lynchburg claiming the previous matchup 2-0 in 2001.
The Cowgirls enter this match with a record of 1-1-1. So far this season, they have been outscored by their opponent 4-6.
On Sunday, the Hornets will close out their weekend schedule, facing off against Johns Hopkins at 4:30 pm. In the six matches between the two universities, Lynchburg has lost four, tied once, and won once. The Blue Jays have defeated Lynchburg in the two most recent matchups 2-0.
Johns Hopkins enters the weekend with a record of 0-1-1, and will also face Roanoke on Saturday.
This matchup will be an exciting one for both parties, as two high-flying offenses take the field. The two teams combine for 42.5 shots per game through their first two contests.
Following this weekend's road trip for the Hornets, they will open up their home schedule the following Saturday, taking on Marymount.
