Lynchburg, Va. – The University of Lynchburg women's soccer team caps its three-game road stretch in Danville, Va. on Saturday, Oct. 4 as the Hornets face Averett and search for their fourth-consecutive win.

In the 2024 meeting, the Hornets prevailed with a 5-0 scoreline, led by forward Madelyn Boyce's two goals in the first 25 minutes of play. Lynchburg boasted a 30-2 shot advantage and forced 11 saves from the Averett keeper.
In the recent stretch of victories, Lynchburg owns a 10-1 goal advantage over opponents, improving to a 3-0 record in Old Dominion Athletic Conference play and 7-1-1 overall mark. The Hornets have placed 61.4 percent of their shots on goal this season, good for second in the ODAC and 27th in Division III. Lynchburg has tallied 21 goals, and 11 have been assisted.
Averett enters Saturday's contest with a 1-6-1 record, looking to recover from a six-game losing streak. The Cougars defeated Pfeiffer 2-0 and earned a 3-3 draw against Salem (N.C.) to begin the season, though the team has been outscored 29-1 in the following six games.
Isobel Evans and Gianna Minafo each lead the team with two goals. Tiia Chrons and Krista Hinebaugh have shared the goalkeeping duties, each starting at least three matches to begin 2025.
Saturday marks Averett's third home game in a four-match span. In the lone away game, the Cougars fell 12-0 to Randolph-Macon and failed to attempt a shot; meanwhile, the Yellow Jackets tallied 50.
